What is the Irvin D. Reid Honors College at Wayne State?
The Irvin D. Reid Honors College provides Wayne State's highest-achieving undergraduates with a program that is both academically rigorous and culturally engaged. Founded in 2008, it is home to roughly 2000 students, comprising both University Honors and Departmental Honors tracks.
What are the qualifications to get into the Honors College?
Incoming Henry Ford College transfer students with at least 15 credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 are invited to the Honors College through the University Admissions process. Ambitious Transfer students with 12 credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.3 are encouraged to apply for membership. Once accepted, students may choose to pursue University Honors or Departmental Honors in their major.
Henry Ford II Honors program
The Henry Ford College Henry Ford II Honors Program required courses (13 credits) will transfer to Wayne State University (WSU) and be recognized as credits towards the University Honors co-major and department honors (as applicable). The credits transfer as the following:

Department or University Honors
During the third and fourth year, students will complete the required WSU Honors courses:

Departmental Honors tracks may require specific courses in the major. Students pursuing University Honors will need to complete 28 Honors credits, including all HFC Honors credits, the WSU Honors seminar, and WSU Honors Thesis. Students are encouraged to meet with the WSU Honors advisor as soon as possible for additional guidelines.
