Pre-Medical Laboratory Science at WSU
Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) are crucial to the healthcare ecosystem as they work to analyze specimens. The specimens analyzed are ordered and collected by a healthcare provider. Medical Laboratory Scientists play a critical role in diagnosis. The MLS program at Wayne State University is one of the top in the country, training students to excel in both the skills and knowledge needed to be an excellent healthcare provider.
The advisors in the Pre-Med and Health Science Center (PMHSC) provide prerequisite and preparatory advising for students who are interested in applying to the MLS program. Topics during advising appointments will include:
-
Course planning
-
Assessing competitiveness
-
Application guidance
Students who are interested in learning more about the professional program should plan to attend an information session with the WSU College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. These sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm on Zoom.
Prospective MLS students can also read about the program prerequisite coursework and admissions requirements on the MLS website.
