Pre-Radiologic Technology at WSU
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (RT) develops students into imaging specialists. Working closely with radiologists, RTs use technologically advanced imaging equipment to take 2D and 3D images of tissue, organs, bones, and vessels. These images are used by radiologists to diagnose, rule out, or develop treatment plans. RTs can specialize in the type of imagining and technology used and work in a variety of health care settings. RTs serve an important role in the landscape of healthcare, often serving as the first stop for many patients who are in need of treatment.
The advisors in the Pre-Med and Health Science Center (PMHSC) provide prerequisite and preparatory advising for students who are interested in applying to the RT program. Topics during advising appointments will include:
-
Course planning
-
Assessing competitiveness
-
Application guidance
Students who are interested in learning more about the professional program should plan to attend an information session with the WSU College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. These sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm on Zoom.
Prospective RT students can also read about the program prerequisite coursework and admissions requirements on the RT website.
