Clinical/Medical Experiences

All students must gain experience in a healthcare setting if they plan to apply to medical school. These experiences can be paid or unpaid, in any setting. Students can even include time spent caring for family members in need of medical treatment. Particular value is attached to experiences that involve interacting directly with underserved patients.  

Many students begin by volunteering at a large hospital, and then move on to more specialized experiences. Hospitals and free clinics typically have a page on their website where they collect information on potential volunteers.  Here are some websites of local suggestions, but any clinical location is acceptable:
