Health Care Experiences

Many students pursuing admission to PA programs will work in health care settings where they talk to patients, help with medical records, learn about insurance and more. These types of experiences are categorized as health care experiences. PA admissions committee members want to know about these experiences, just like they want to know about patient care experiences. In fact, many jobs have a combination of health care and patient care related tasks. The PMHSC recommends that students estimate the amount of time spent on each type of task (even within a single job) and record it separately within CASPA. This gives graduate programs an accurate view of each candidate.
